My name is Sam Buechler (BEAK-ler) – I’m the Student Success Faculty Resident Librarian at Washington State University – Vancouver. My job involves serving as liason to first-year and humanities departments, working closely with WSU-V’s Center for Intercultural Learning and Affirmation (CILA), and creating equitable spaces, services, and experiences for underrepresented students on campus.
I believe that academic libraries are central entities in providing access to materials, information, and tools for student and community success. I view library services through a critical lens (CritLib) and apply an anti-racist and gender-inclusive pedagogy and praxis. As a newly minted librarian (University of Washington 2020) I am always interested in collaborating and hearing from professionals of various experience levels.
